Dutch Grand Prix Calls For Sauber Name Change Over Gambling Regulations

Date:

Stake F1 will run under a different name at the Dutch Grand Prix after Dutch gambling laws forced the team to remove its title sponsor’s branding.

The squad, officially entered as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber, is rebranding with Kick taking the lead spot on the car. Dutch regulations introduced this year prohibit gambling companies from advertising through sports sponsorships, making the Stake name non-compliant.

It’s not the first time the team has faced this issue—similar changes were required at Spa earlier in the season. Despite the distraction, the Hinwil-based outfit is enjoying strong form, sitting seventh in the Constructors’ Championship, just one point behind Aston Martin.
