The Las Vegas Grand Prix just scored a two-year contract extension, keeping the race along the famous Strip on the calendar until 2027.

Las Vegas joined the F1 lineup in 2023 with a three-year deal, backed by casino partners and a 10-year green light from Clark County for the race to happen on the Strip.

Even though the extension was only announced at the Canadian Grand Prix, Las Vegas was already included in the 2026 calendar.

Emily Prazer, who is the president of the Las Vegas Grand Prix and the chief commercial officer of F1, mentioned that they plan to keep the race going for a long time.

“We want to ensure that we keep evolving what we’re doing. But the goal is to have a much longer-term deal,” Prazer stated. “As we all know, the race has faced some hurdles, but we’re coming out stronger. So we want to ensure it continues to benefit both parties.”

Las Vegas made a dramatic debut in Formula 1, marked by soaring ticket and hotel prices, as well as unexpected technical issues. During the first practice session, a loose water valve cover damaged Carlos Sainz Jr.’s car, causing significant delays while officials inspected the track. As a result, fans were asked to leave before the second practice, which didn’t finish until 4 a.m.
