Aaron Hernandez commits suicide.

Though serving a life sentence in prison, last week the athlete avoided additional charges – a jury found him not guilty of first-degree murder charges in the killings of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado

Today the New England Patriots are set to visit the White House, which add to the somewhat unusual circumstances surrounding the entire story leading to his death.

The former New England Patriots former tight-end killed himself early Wednesday morning, according to the Massachusetts Department of Correction said Wednesday.

The suicide act was carried out using a bed sheet attached to a window to hang and kill himself.  Mr. Hernandez attempted to block access to his door by jamming it with a variety of items.

The Souza-Barankowski Correctional Center located in Shirley, Massachusetts reports Hernandez was found in his cell at approximately 3:05 a.m. and pronounced dead shortly after at 4:07 a.m.
